Общественное движение за заселение Территории Канзас [Kansas] и превращение ее в свободный штат [free state], начатое в 1854 Илайей Тейером [Thayer, Eli] (1819-1899) и широко поддержанное политиками и бизнесменами на Востоке [East]. Переселенцы переезжали за свой счет, а фирмы, участвовавшие в Движении, помогали им в обустройстве, строительстве общественных зданий в новых поселениях и др. вопросах. Движение было популярно до 1857, но многие переселенцы, боясь попасть в зависимость, от помощи отказывались
